It's Happening!

After thirty years as a concept, and three years writing, hard to believe that this book is really about to be printed. But it's true, and 'The Oberammergau Tales' will be published by Wakefield Press in October! Another verse novel, inspired by Chaucer's 'Canterbury Tales' - but this one is a modern story, with a group of travellers setting off on a four day bus tour. Ever wondered about your fellow-travellers in any tour group?

Here's your chance to explore just who and what they might have been. I've just had a fantastically busy week, correcting first proofs of new book. Very important to do this now, as we leave for Europe on June 25th. It's a case of working to fine-tuned deadlines, as I can't see myself proof-reading on screen as we travel round Spain. And even less while we are students in a one-month course at Charles University in Prague. So it's crucial to get everything organised before we leave. Also the coming events. Please, dear friends, keep Oct 16 for launch of 'The Oberammergau Tales' in Adelaide - Peter Goldsworthy has agreed to do the honours again and Stephen Marshall will be MC-ing. Invitations when we return in September. For those interstate, the Melbourne launch will be by Chris Wallace-Crabbe on October 24 at Readings Bookshop in Carlton, and I'm currently trying to set up dates for Canberra and Brisbane. I hope to see many of you at the launches.
