But for me the best event was on the following Tuesday night, with a night devoted to Even Grimmer Tales at the Mary Ryans Bookshop in Bulimba, where my daughter-in-law Jackie and her staff put on a great event for about 35 people. So many old friends and ex-students to catch up with, as well as the casual droppers-in, and excellent sales to make the evening a real success. Terrific food too - thank you Jack and team.
The following week it was off to Melbourne, for another memorable night, with friends and strangers a really appreciative audience for the book's introducer, Professor Doreen Rosenthal. of Melbourne University. So appropriate to have this launch at the new Readings Bookshop in the university grounds, because it's my own home university and sentimental attachment is high! Another night that I won't forget, with friends from every era of my life - yes, even primary school days.
So Even Grimmer Tales has now been introduced to the public in events in four states, and each has been a excellent event.
